Real Reason Meghan Markle's PA Quit Revealed; Duchess Demands Too Much
Meghan Markle's demands forced her personal assistant (PA) to quit.
The Duchess of Sussex's PA, Melissa Toubati, made headlines after leaving her royal job. Initially, the reason wasn't revealed, but an insider shared the details that lead to Toubati's resignation.
Sources told Halina Watts of Mirror that Markle's personal assistant quit after being reduced to tears due to the royal's demands. Markle reportedly demanded too much that even if Toubati was a pro, she couldn't handle them anymore.
"Her job was highly pressurised and in the end, it became too much. She put up with quite a lot. Meghan put a lot of demands on her and it ended up with her in tears," the insider said. "She is hugely talented and played a pivotal role in the success of the royal wedding. She’ll be missed by everyone in the household."
"Melissa is a total professional and fantastic at her job, but things came to a head and it was easier for them both to go their separate ways," another insider said.
According to previous reports, Markle demanded air fresheners in Windsor Castle. Many also found her to be dictatorial because she would email staff requests at 5 a.m.
Toubati was not the only staff who quit working for Markle. In fact, Prince Harry and Markle lost two other royal aides. Edward Lane Fox and the couple's private secretary, Samantha Cohen, who filled Fox's position, also left their jobs within six months. Many were shocked why they quit working for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
"A real shock, why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?" one source said following Toubati's resignation.
"To lose one member of the household could happen to anyone," another insider said. "To lose three in a few months is starting to look like a stampede."
In related news, Markle and her royal sister-in-law Kate Middleton are reportedly feuding. The two duchesses are said to be not getting along with each other. This reportedly prompted Prince Harry and Markle to leave Kensington Palace and move to Windsor.
Royal author Robert Jobson confirmed the conflict between Prince Harry and Prince William's wives. He added that the two do not need to get along with each other.
"There is definitely tension going on there at the moment," Jobson said. "Do the two women get on - why should they? They are just married to the two brothers."
