Real Story Behind Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom’s Secret Engagement During Greece Getaway

The latest rumor that claimed actor Orlando Bloom had secretly gotten engaged to pop singer Katy Perry during a getaway in Greece was debunked by Gossip Cop.

The false piece of gossip was started by Life & Style magazine, through an article where the tabloid claimed the pair who recently got back together after going their separate ways last year, got “secretly engaged” a month ago.

“Bloom got down on one knee and asked Katy Perry to marry him during a romantic getaway to Greece in September,” an anonymous insider told the tabloid.

So what led the actor to take the next big step in the couple’s relationship? The so-called source claimed the breakup last year was an eye-opener for Bloom.

“Being apart from Katy was a huge wake-up call for Orlando. Katy and Orlando don’t want to wait around to get married,” the source added.

Despite alleging the “Pirates Of The Caribbean” actor got engaged to his girlfriend, the insider conveniently avoided delving into any details about the supposed engagement, other than the fact that the proposal took place in Greece in September. No specific sate was revealed, nor was there any information shared of the exact location where Bloom went down on one knee. There was also no mention of the engagement ring that Perry was offered.

Also, the fact that no other tabloid, other than the Life & Style reported the engagement of two A-list celebrities like Bloom and Perry was extremely suspicious.

If all these factors weren't enough evidence to prove the unreliable tabloid’s story was a work of fiction, Gossip Cop reached out to the actor’s rep, who confirmed that he never got “secretly engaged” to Perry.

It is true, however, the pair did enjoy quality time together in Greece and are in a much better place in their relationship than they were months ago. They were also seen attending amfAR Gala together in Los Angeles on Thursday.

“He is ready to settle down with Katy,” the source told People Magazine. “She hasn’t put any pressure on their relationship lately, and everything is just easy. Being with Katy makes Orlando very happy. In the past, he seemed so scattered and unwilling to settle down. He is like a new person now and everyone is excited for him.”

However, the same source confirmed the actor had no plans of proposing as of yet.

“Orlando doesn’t have a ring yet but has been talking about the future. Everyone would be excited if they got engaged. Katy is wonderful!” the insider added.
