Reality Behind Katie Holmes, Jamie Foxx’s Wedding Plans, Suri’s New ‘Father-Figure’ Rumors
An unreliable tabloid claimed actress Katie Holmes was getting ready to say “I do” for the second time in her life, this time to boyfriend Jamie Foxx. However, rumors of the wedding plans were debunked by Gossip Cop.
According to a recent article in OK! Australia, Holmes booked a wedding venue in Ireland, which according to the publication, proved the “Dawson’s Creek” alum was prepared to get married to the “Django Unchained” star.
The fact that Holmes was spotted near Borris House, a historic estate in Ireland that serves as a popular wedding venue, was nothing new, as it was widely reported back in July. Around the same time, the reports were rubbished by Gossip Cop, which reached out to a rep for the actress, confirming Holmes “was in Ireland for work” and not scoping out wedding venues.
It was highly likely that Borris House was nothing more than a sightseeing venue for Holmes, who visited a number of destinations, including a tour of Kilkenny castle and the National Design and Craft Gallery, with her daughter from her previous marriage, Suri Cruise.
Next, the OK! Australia article cited the white dress Holes wore to the Alice and Olivia show at New York Fashion Week as evidence that she wanted Foxx to “know exactly what he can expect to greet him at the end of the aisle.” The publication further claimed she planned on wearing the same dress to her upcoming wedding because it gave Foxx “some serious bridal vibes.”
Lastly, in an attempt to make their false narrative seem more legitimate, the article went onto quote a so-called source, who claimed to have inside scoop on the relation between Foxx and Suri. According to the anonymous insider Holmes felt “very grateful” Foxx was “becoming more and more of a father figure to Suri.”
“Jamie is becoming more and more of a father figure to Suri and Katie’s very grateful for that,” the source added. “Jamie treats Suri like one of his own daughters and is always singing silly songs to her and making her laugh and smile.”
However, the insider’s claim was built on an untrue premise, as the People magazine already established in a piece earlier this year the actor had not spent much time with Suri.
“They still have their own separate lives and they aren’t trying to join them together,” a source told the magazine. “They aren’t focused on what’s next or what the future holds. They are content simply knowing that they enjoy each other’s company and have a good time together. It isn’t about anything more than that.”
Lastly, a reliable rep for the actress told Gossip Cop rumors surrounding Holmes and Foxx’s wedding were “not true,” meaning such narratives were just by gossip-mongers trying to cash in on a popular Hollywood romance.
