The Reason Brad Pitt Attended Jennifer Aniston’s Birthday After Justin Theroux Split

Jennifer Aniston invited some of the biggest stars in Hollywood to her 50th birthday party, but the biggest surprise of the night was the arrival of her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Years after the two finalized their divorce in 2005, Pitt decided to attend her milestone bash at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Insiders told Us Weekly Pitt’s presence at the birthday party wasn’t “that big of a deal to Jen,” who turns 50 on Monday. However, other guests seemed surprised by his attendance.

“The invite went out to a ton of people and he accepted. She was happy he was there, but that was it. She was busy making the rounds and excited to see so many people near and dear to her,” the source explained.

Although Aniston “mostly mingled with her girlfriends” at the celebration, she did take a moment to catch up with her ex-husband. “Jen spoke to Brad briefly. At one point she hugged him and thanked him for coming,” the source shared.

Pitt reportedly enjoyed himself at Aniston’s party and took the opportunity to chat with old friends. “He saw a lot of people he hadn’t seen in years. Any negative feelings seem to have been put aside by Jen’s friends,” the insider revealed.

“It’s been a long time and everyone has moved on. Brad didn’t stay all that long and ducked out before most people.”

Pitt wasn’t the only former flame to attend Aniston’s birthday party. The actress’ ex-boyfriend John Mayer was among the many celebrities on the guest list, however, Aniston’s estranged husband Justin Theroux was nowhere in sight during the night’s festivities.
