‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Release Date May Have Been Leaked By UK Retailer
Rockstar Games announced “Red Dead Redemption 2” back in October and only gave a fall 2017 release date. However, one U.K. retailer may have already revealed that the game will be arriving this September.
“Red Dead Redemption 2” is listed as having a release date of Sept. 26, 2017 on the Base online store. Some might argue that the date could simply be a placeholder, but there’s one evidence that proves that it isn’t.
Other upcoming games listed on the U.K. retailer website like”Days Gone,” “Sea of Thieves” and “Crackdown 3” all carry the Dec. 31, 2017 release dates, as pointed out by GamingBolt. This indicates that the retailer uses that date as a placeholder for any upcoming games that have a fall 2017 release date. If that’s the case, Base may have already revealed “Red Dead Redemption 2’s” actually release date. The listed date is also earlier than a previous rumor that has circulated around the net.
IBT reported back in January that the British online store Littlewoods listed “Red Dead Redemption 2” as having an Oct. 2 release date. However, there was much skepticism with the given date because it lands on a Monday. Games in the U.S. are usually released on Tuesdays, while the European market releases games on a Friday. The date listed by Base lands on a Tuesday.
That said, it’s still best to take this latest news with a grain of salt. There are still other factors to consider when it comes to release dates. Rockstar has a history of delaying a lot of its major games, and the developer did previously state that it intends to release “Red Dead Redemption 2” during its fiscal 2018 calendar, which starts in October 2017 and ends in September 2018.
