Reduce Visceral Fat: Eat This Japanese Delicacy Regularly For A Slimmer Tummy
Visceral fat has been seen as a major culprit in a host of health problems. Primarily found in the abdominal gap next to various important organs, too much visceral fat increases the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
It is, therefore, important to drastically lower the levels, if not totally remove, visceral fat. To achieve this, you need to look at your diet and be prepared to make some changes to it. This is because an unhealthy diet can cause a build-up of visceral fat.
Avoid Trans Fats
Recent studies have also revealed traditional Japanese noodles called shirataki can help lower down visceral fat. Widely regarded as a Japanese delicacy, shirataki noodles are made from konyac yam and are gelatinous, thin, and translucent. They have highly-soluble fiber content and have been proven to be effective in removing visceral fat.
Researchers reveal the soluble fiber in shirataki noodles can readily absorb water and then forms a gel-like substance that can slow down food as it goes through the digestive system. This can help a person feel full and satiated, making them eat less. It also lowers down the number of calories that the body gets from food.
Combating Belly Fat
A study involving over a thousand adults revealed how this type of fiber helps combat belly fat. Researchers found that belly fat gain decreased by as much as 3.7%, with every increase of around 10g of soluble fiber consumption in five years.
You can also get soluble fiber from foods like legumes, flaxseed, avocados, and Brussels sprouts. Observing a low-carb diet can also help a lot in removing visceral fat.
More Fat Less Carbs
In another study, researchers discovered those who observed a low-carb diet got rid of 4.4% more total fat and 10% more visceral fat compared to those following a low-fat diet.
A ketogenic or keto diet is one such low-carb diets that have been proven to be very effective in reducing and removing visceral fat. This type of diet can radically lower carb intake, replacing it with fat that can place the body into its natural metabolic state referred to as ketosis.
Aside from diet, performing regular exercises is also a must to be able to remove visceral fat more quickly. Aerobic exercises have been found to help get rid of visceral fat even without going on a drastic diet. Researchers, however, recommend combining a healthy diet with regular exercise to achieve the best results in removing visceral fat.
