Reese Witherspoon Raves About Mom Duties: ‘My First Priority Is My Kids’

Reese Witherspoon opened up about her utmost dedication as a mom in a conversation with Gayle King for the December/January 2022 cover story of InStyle Magazine.

"My first, most important priority is my kids. If I told you how much space in my brain, they take up every day— do you even think they know, Gayle? I don't even think they know," the 45-year-old actress said.

Reese is mom to daughter Ava, 22, and son Deacon, 18, whom she shares with ex Ryan Phillippe, and youngest child Tennessee James, 9, with husband, Jim Toth.

The “Legally Blonde” actress said she enjoys seeing people’s reactions each time she posts a photo with Ava.

“Well, I love being mistaken for her because it makes me feel so young. I'm so proud of her. She really rolls with it. I'm sure it's not easy looking exactly like your mother,” she told the magazine.

In the interview, Reese also revealed her advice to Ava regarding fame and Hollywood.

"It's an odd situation because I didn't grow up famous. So [Ava is] living an experience that I did not have, and so are my sons," she says. "We are lucky enough to have friends who grew up in Hollywood and can help give them advice on how to navigate. Ava is so down-to-earth. She wants to do great things in the world. She's studying and learning and trying to find herself. It's a big thing in life to try different things and figure out what is really your path."

Reese’s fans had a grand time commenting how she and Ava are basically carbon copies of each other after she posted her birthday greeting to her daughter who turned 22 in September.

"Happy Birthday to my sweet little girl…excuse me… I mean my adult daughter!!! Words can't describe how proud I am of you. You have grown into an extraordinary person who cares so much about the world around her. I am so lucky to have you light up my life. I love you, Ava!!"

One fan just could not help but exclaim how much they look like each other, saying, “ she looks so much like you, it's crazy, lol. ”

Another fan commented, “Wow! Looks exactly like you, did you use a xerox machine? ”

"The Morning Show” star also recently opened up about her “rewarding relationship” with her kids in the cover story of Interview Magazine in June.

"That makes me want to cry, the idea of having a long relationship with adult children," she told the outlet.

"I never expected the kind of relationship that I have with them, but it's so rewarding to be able to have kids that you can process life with a little bit, and they help me understand the complexities of what it means to be a human now," Witherspoon continued. "So I'm really, really grateful that these little humans are in my life."
