Reign
Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Condé (Sean Teale) will continue to work together in the midseason premiere of "Reign" -- even though she knows he is in love with her. The CW

Season 2 of “Reign” has been one intense and wild roller-coaster ride, and the synopsis for the midseason premiere teases that the drama will not slow down. Fans still have a couple of weeks until the series returns to The CW, but we’ve got some episode 11 spoilers that can hold viewers over until the midseason premiere Jan. 22.

When we left off, the French castle was in the middle of some mayhem. Francis (Toby Regbo) captured Narcisse (Craig Parker) and locked him up at the castle. Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Condé (Sean Teale) went after her attackers, and the young queen decided to burn them alive in the tavern where they were staying. Lord Castelroy (Michael Therriault) was forced to flee because of his Protestant views, but Greer (Celina Sinden) chose to stay behind to help Mary.

Meanwhile, Mary confessed to Francis she blamed him for the attack on her, and told him their marriage moving forward would strictly be for France and Scotland. But the big jaw-droppers came at the end of the episode when a crazed Queen Catherine (Megan Follows) listened to the ghosts of her twin daughters and decided to poison her eldest daughter, Claude (Rose Williams).

In another surprising twist, Mary discovered a secret letter from Condé that confessed his love. But that was not the only secret that Condé was hiding -- his older brother arrived at the castle and revealed that the two had been plotting to take over the throne by discovering where Francis was vulnerable.

So, where does that leave “Reign” for the second half of Season 2? According to the synopsis for the midseason premiere, titled “Getaway,” Condé’s note will not stop Mary from seeing him. The pair will once again be working together, but this time to save his life. The Dark Riders had marked Condé, and the Vatican is now “hunting him.” Will the two be forced to separate? Or will Mary find a way to help him stay in the castle?

Surprisingly, it sounds like Francis might be the solution to Condé’s problems with the Vatican. Francis will get involved with the Dark Riders situation by devising a plan to “put an end to the Dark Riders legend.” However, his plan will put another person at risk -- his half-brother, Bash (Torrance Coombs).

Multiple lives will be on the line when episode 11 premieres, and Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) is not shying away from the danger. As Claude becomes ill from her mother’s poison, Kenna will risk getting on Queen Catherine’s bad side by revealing her “ulterior motive” to Claude. Will Claude believe Kenna about her mother? And will Claude even survive after the dose of poison she consumed? “Reign” viewers will have to wait to find out!

The midseason premiere of “Reign” will be shown on The CW Thursday, Jan. 22, at 9 p.m. EST.
