‘Reign’ Season 4 Spoilers: Queen Mary Gets Close To Bothwell In Episode 8 ‘Uncharted Waters’ [VIDEO]
Queen Mary’s (Adelaide Kane) first marriage was a happy one, but her second won’t be. Last week on CW’s “Reign,” the Scottish monarch discovered that her fiancé Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) slept with his former lover. Of course, she couldn’t back out from her alliance with him now since he takes her one step closer towards taking the English throne.
Sadly, Mary accepted the fact that her second marriage is purely a political one.
Meanwhile in France, Catherine (Megan Follows) and Narcisse (Craig Parker) successfully located and brought King Charles (Spencer MacPherson) back to the throne. Unfortunately, Charles is now a protestant and Catherine’s daughter Leesa (Anastasia Phillips) demanded that he step down so that his younger brother Henry, a catholic, can rule the country.
What will happen tonight on “Reign”?

Mary may be stuck in a loveless marriage, but that doesn’t mean she won’t have a little fun on the side. The promo of Season 4, episode 8 shows the Queen of Scots cozying up to Bothwell (Adam Croasdell). She unexpectedly visits Bothwell in his castle. They romance and as the handsome noble says in the video, “Might I say, we make good partners.”
A quick look at the pages of the real Queen Mary’s life reveals that her third husband was none other than Bothwell.
However, things aren’t all rosy for Kane’s character in the upcoming episode. According to the synopsis on TVGuide, a terrible tragedy will push her and Darnley further apart. Mary will be forced to enlist Catherine’s help as the wedding date draws closer. It’s been a while since we saw Mary and her former mother-in-law scheming together. This should be fun!
Meanwhile in England, Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) encounters a traitor to Spain who petitions her to support an expedition to the new world.
Moreover, James (Dan Jeannotte) continues to investigate Darnley. He finds out that his lover Keira (Sara Garcia) never left town.
“Reign” Season 4 airs Fridays at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
