Release The Snyder Cut: Former DC Entertainment President Supports 'Justice League' Campaign

The "Justice League" Snyder Cut just got support from former DC Entertainment president, Diane Nelson. She received a direct message from DC fan and podcaster Tim Yoko, asking if they could post proof of her support. Not only did she agree and respond, but she screenshot the message and posted it herself.

Neslon’s response read, “Thank you for the courtesy of asking. If Zack feels he had the time and resources to finish a cut to his satisfaction and he would like fans to see it, nothing would make me happier than for him to have that opportunity. He earned it and was not only a great filmmaking talent but a true gentleman and professional in all his dealings with the Studio and DC,” followed by a caption #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.

Along with Nelson, screenwriter Damon Lindelof, who wrote the Snyder-directed "Watchmen," and "Doctor Strange" filmmaker Scott Derrickson have vocalized their support for the release of the film, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Fans have been rallying for this movie to be made for over two years, but now with Nelson’s support, it seems like a much stronger possibility.

As of right now, the Release The Snyder Cut movement has gathered thousands of supporters online, including the superhero cast of "Justice League," save for Henry Cavill and Ezra Miller. Jason Momoa, especially, has been outspoken, saying he saw the cut and said, “The public needs to see it.”

Some of the support aligned with Sunday's 2-year anniversary of the "Justice League" release. Snyder has been adding fuel to this ongoing fire by retweeting each of the stars #ReleaseTheSnyderCut tweets, with his own responses, seemingly rallying up the public even further.

Snyder’s cut of “Justice League” is a film that’s existed in the minds of major DC fans since the original cut came out in 2017. Snyder himself has been keeping the flame burning for some time, but what really got the ball rolling is when he told fans what they missed from the studio cut “Justice League.”

In the “Batman V. Superman” movie, there is a surreal nightmare sequence where Batman fights aliens in a post-apocalyptic world, the end result of the follow-up movie “Justice League.” The Snyder Cut would answer the question of every fan as to what the point of that scene was.

"We would end up in the distant future, where Darkseid has taken over Earth and where Superman has succumbed to the Anti-Life [Equation] ... There were a few members of the Justice League that had survived in that world, that they were fighting," he told fans during a live Q&A session in March (via ComicBook.com). "Batman broke a pact with Cyborg because something happened... They were working on an equation to jump Flash back to tell Bruce..."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the timing of the support from Snyder and the cast is suspicious, but Warner Bros. has made no official announcement of or even acknowledged the Snyder cut.

Nelson of all people likely understands Snyder’s frustration in this lost opportunity, as she worked with Snyder when he decided to leave the production after his daughter's death. “Avengers” director Joss Whedon then took over, where re-writes and re-shoots plagued production for some time, changing the direction of the movie.
