Police discovered human remains in North Carolina Friday they say may be a woman missing since 2012.

The remains were discovered in a wooded area near Davidson Highway, or N.C. Hwy 73, near Concord early Friday.

Concord police said the remains may be those of Crystal Dawn Morrison, a North Carolina woman who disappeared in 2012.

A then 31-year-old Morrison was reported missing in August of 2012 near her workplace, Connextions Recruiting. She was last seen walking down International Drive in Concord. Police reports said she allegedly told co-workers she wasn’t feeling well and disappeared on her way home. She also reportedly told co-workers someone would pick her up but there was no indication that happened.

Investigators have gathered the remains for testing and have not determined a cause of death.

Concord police issued a statement to reporters, saying:
