Remembering America's Fallen on Memorial Day
Monday, May 30. Today is Memorial Day, a day to remember the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers serving our country.
Memorial Day was first observed under General John Logan's order in 1868. Flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetary.
International Business Times pays tribute to over 6,000 Americans who have fallen in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Their service and ultimate sacrifice is honored and remembered by America.
As families spend quality time, travel, and celebrate life this holiday weekend, America is also reminded of the great sacrifices she stands upon to enjoy such simple gifts.
