Remembering Luke Perry: 6 Hallmark Movies Starring Late ‘Riverdale’ Actor
“Beverly Hills, 90210” alum and “Riverdale” actor Luke Perry died on Monday after suffering a massive stroke last week. Although he’s most well-known for playing Dylan McKay on the 1990s Fox teen drama and for portraying Fred Andrews on the current CW teen drama, Perry was also popular in the Hallmark world.
The actor starred in five films for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries from 2008 to 2016 and had a guest-starring role in another one during that time, as well. For fans wanting to celebrate the actor after his death by checking out more of his work, or for fans who simply want to rewatch their favorite Perry projects, here are the six Hallmark movies starring the late actor.
“A Gunfighter’s Pledge” (2008)
Also known as “The Pledge,” Perry’s first Hallmark movie followed his character, Matt Austin, as he tried to make things right after accidentally killing an innocent man. It’s available to stream on Hallmark Movies Now and Amazon Video, and a DVD of the movie can be purchased on Amazon.
"Goodnight for Justice" (2011)
Perry reunited with his “Beverly Hills, 90210”co-star, Jason Priestley, for this film, which was the first in a trilogy. The “Riverdale” actor starred as John Goodnight, a judge of the western territories who worked to fight injustice after watching his family members get killed when he was just a child. Priestley didn’t act in the film, but he did direct it. All three films (more details about the sequels are below) are currently being sold as part of a triple feature DVD set on Amazon.
"Goodnight for Justice: The Measure of a Man" (2012)
The second installment in Perry’s Hallmark series found John Goodnight heading to a Wyoming territory to help find and prosecute a bunch of thieves terrorizing the area.
"Goodnight for Justice: Queen of Hearts" (2013)
The third and final movie in the franchise saw John saving a woman from danger only to discover she might not be so innocent. Aside from being in the DVD set with the others, this movie is also available on Hallmark Movies Now.
"Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise" (2015)
Perry guest-starred as Richard Steele in this film, which featured Tom Selleck as the titular character in this new installment in the franchise about Police Chief Jesse Stone. Fans can check out the video online by buying it on Amazon Video, YouTube, Google Play, Vudu or iTunes. A DVD of it can also be purchased on Amazon.
"Love in Paradise" (2016)
He might’ve gotten “Lost in Paradise” the year before, but 2016 saw Perry finding “Love in Paradise” in his only Hallmark rom-com and final movie for the network. He played Avery Ford, a famous Western film actor sent to a dude ranch run by Heather Twain (Emmanuelle Vaugier) to help revive his career and the ranch’s business. The movie isn’t currently available on DVD or any streaming services, but Hallmark Channel will be airing the film on Monday at 4 p.m. EST.
