  • Dave Meltzer believes Bray Wyatt caused more harm than good to those he had programs with

  • Wyatt recently caused a stir on social media, hinting at his nearing return to pro wrestling

Bray Wyatt’s pro wrestling career has been the subject of many fans’ obsession in the past year after he was released from WWE because of how prolific he is and the characters that he has made.

However, pro wrestling personality Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter slyly revealed one of the reasons that he was cut by the company was because of how damaging his character was to those he feuded with on-screen.

Meltzer opened up his lengthy statement by ensuring that Wyatt was not released because he was not connecting with fans or anything related to his gimmick before delving deeper into the situation.

“He (Wyatt) was fired having to do with things that I probably shouldn’t talk about, so I’m not going to, to start a can of worms. But it’s got nothing to do with that. He had health issues, also, as far as being kept out of action and everything like that,” he said on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

“So it was just one of those things, but the argument against him was that you know, with the exception of Daniel Bryan, pretty much everybody he worked with got destroyed by him and was left for s--- and had to rebuild and had to turn heel.”

This is an interesting case to look into as Meltzer noted that both The Miz and Seth Rollins were practically forced to turn heel after their respective encounters with Wyatt, with the insider citing that both men had to do it to recover.

“Miz turning heel was probably going to happen anyway because he wasn’t that great of a babyface. Seth turning heel, because they absolutely destroyed him as a babyface, that’s absolutely due to the Bray Wyatt thing and the booking of the Bray Wyatt thing,” he remarked.

Partial details of Wyatt’s release trickled out in November wherein it was believed that WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon grew frustrated with the performer blasting people in their creatives department, which led to his inevitable release.

Wyatt previously sent the internet wrestling community into a frenzy after not-so-subtle changes to his Twitter page that seemingly hinted at his return to pro wrestling.

With how much pull Wyatt has from fans, it would not be surprising at all to see him back in a pro wrestling ring with whichever company his heart desires sooner rather than later.
