Report: Eva Longoria And Mark Sanchez Break Up

It’s been a bad week so far for New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. After his loss on Sunday, in overtime, to divisional rivals the New England Patriots, reports are circulating that Sanchez and girlfriend Eva Longoria have broken up after dating for only two months.

In a report by Us Weekly, the breakup was confirmed by Mark Sanchez’ rep and termed amicable. According to Sanchez’ rep, "It really was about scheduling more than anything else. They will remain close friends.”

Sanchez, 25, confirmed that he was dating Longoria in September. The quarterback previously has been romantically linked to model Kate Upton and actress Hayden Panettiere. Longoria, 37, divorced Tony Parker, point guard for the San Antonio Spurs, in 2010 after three years of marriage. After the divorce, Longoria started dating Eduardo Cruz in February 2011 although she broke up with him in June 2012, reports Us.

The reason for the split, conflicting schedules, seems logical but there is always a bit of scandal to be found. Sanchez is in the middle of the NFL season while Longoria has projects of her own. Longoria is currently the co-chairwoman of the Obama re-election campaign while preparing to star in the upcoming movie “Frontera,” which will be shot in Los Angeles.

While that may be reason enough, Us Weekly reports, from an unnamed source, that Sanchez could be seen flirting with women at various nightclubs and popular late-night spots in Manhattan. According to Us Weekly, Sanchez informed his friends of the breakup on Tuesday.

For Jets fans, this may be good news. The Jets have a losing record, 3-4, and play another divisional rival, the Miami Dolphins, next week. Sanchez also has to worry about Tim Tebow, the Jets backup quarterback, potentially taking over as the starting quarterback.
