Research: Recreation, leisure a top expense for affluent Chinese
A new survey says 92.6 percent of affluent families in China which annual income exceeding $25,000 spend about $10,000 in leisure and entertainment every year, according to the research released on Monday by MasterCard International.
In the past year, 43.3 percent of the affluent in the mainland traveled domestically at least three times, 30 percent of them traveled abroad at least three time, the research said. Hong Kong is the most popular destination, 85.6% of them visited; Macau, Thailand, Singapore and Japan follows.
The research, conducted every six months, aims to survey and analyze the consuming, lifestyle and value trends for various branded products and services.
