Retail sector wrap-up; Big Lots biggest decliner
Retail stocks fell on Monday, outpacing losses in the broader market, with Big Lots leading decliners.
The S&P Retail Index was down 8.07 points, or 1.67 percent. The broader S&P 500 index fell 13.09 points or 0.84 percent.
Shares of Big Lots Inc closed down $1.55, or 5.22 percent to $28.17. Office Depot, Inc dropped $0.87 to 3.93 percent to $21.29. Costco Wholesale Corp. also fell 2.1 percent to $66.57.
Shares of PetSmart, Inc fell 26 cents, or 0.85 percent, to $30.43. Bed Bath and Beyond, Inc was down 2.28 percent to $34.26. Car parts retailer Autozone, Inc fell 1.26 percent to $122.14. Department store shares were also lower.
Department store chain Dillard's Inc also took a sizable stumble, falling 3.71 percent to $21.03. Nordstrom Inc, dropped 3.79 percent to 42.14.
Among the gainers was Saks Inc, up 3.71 percent to $18.72. Tiffany and Co. rose 1.29 percent to $54.94. Limited Brands, Inc rose 0.68 percent to $22.24.
