As Tori Anderson makes her Hallmark debut in Saturday’s “Return to Christmas Creek” premiere on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Stephen Huszar rises to leading-man status.

The actor was in last year’s “Magical Christmas Ornaments” as a supporting character, but now it’s his turn to be front and center as he joins Anderson in the new flick. The actress was previously in the short-lived CW rom-com series, “No Tomorrow,” from 2016 to 2017, but has most recently been working on NBC’s “Blindspot.”

Here’s what you can expect from their Hallmark Christmas movie together.

“With Christmas only one week away, Amelia Hughes (Anderson), a career-focused Chicago app developer, is crushed when her latest idea for a Christmas shopping app is rejected due to its lacking in holiday spirit,” the synopsis begins. “When her boyfriend breaks up with her over her aversion to family Christmas celebrations — which stems from her family’s splitting up over the holidays when she was a child — a stunned Amelia decides to try to rediscover her Christmas spirit by returning to her small hometown for the holiday.”

When she gets back to her hometown, she runs into her childhood best friend Mike (Huszar), who’s now working as a search and rescue worker. While in town, after 17 years away, Amelia stays at her estranged uncle Harry’s (Steven Weber) bed and breakfast. Being back in Christmas Creek brings up old emotions, and she starts to wonder why her uncle and father had such a rift between them.

“As she engages in local holiday festivities, Amelia finds herself starting to feel the Christmas spirit and looking forward to Harry’s Christmas Eve tradition of delivering toys to needy children in his small private airplane,” the synopsis continues. “Before long, a romantic spark starts to ignite between Amelia and Mike. Meanwhile, Harry begins taking steps to repair his damaged relationship with his ex-girlfriend Pamela (Kari Matchett), a local restaurant owner.”

Amelia begins to fall back in love with the town, as well as with Mike. Her perfect holiday gets disrupted, though, when her parents arrive and her dad and uncle start up their feud again. “But just as she’s about to leave behind Christmas Creek — and Mike — the young app developer feels a burst of inspiration that just might turn things around and help her finally restore family peace and embrace romance as love prepares to take flight for Christmas,” the synopsis reveals.
