‘Revenge’ Season 4 Spoilers: David Clarke Returns To New Season With ‘Issues’; James Tupper Talks His Character’s Resurrection
Who’s ready for some “Revenge”? It looks like fans will get their fill of vengeance when the hit ABC series returns to the small screen with the premiere of Season 4 on Sept. 28. Excited? You have every reason to be – especially because the David-drama will be in full swing!
During the 2014 ATX Festival, Aaron Harberts, the show’s executive producer, teased that a majority of Season 4 thrills would surround the return of David, a character who viewers thought was dead for nearly three seasons – that is, until the Season 3 finale. But now Emily’s father is back from the grave – and rumor has it he’s bringing a lot of problems with him when he makes his Hamptons debut.
James Tupper, who portrays David, revealed to E! News that he’s looking forward to his character's Season 4 resurrection.
“I'm really excited to be back with the cast, it's super fun," he said, addressing what version of David fans will get to meet come the Season 4 premiere of "Revenge." Hint: It’s not going to be the gentle, kind David we’ve previously seen in Emily’s flashbacks.
"I think he's been through a lot in his life, he's working it out. He's got a lot of issues. Maybe he needs a therapist?” Tupper teased.
We doubt David will be the only one looking for psychiatric help come Season 4. Executive Producer Gretchen J. Berg discussed during the ATX Festival that David's return would shake the world for not only our protagonist but would also affect the lives of "everybody on the show."
"It was the perfect way to reboot," Berg said. And we agree!
"Revenge" returns Sunday, Sept. 28, at 10 p.m. EDT. Are you excited for David to haunt the Hamptons in Season 4? Sound off in the comments section below how you think Emily, Victoria and the rest of the characters will react to David’s resurrection.
