English Indie artist Rex Orange County, born Alexander O'Connor, has been charged with six counts of sexual assault in the United Kingdom.

According to the Sun, O'Connor allegedly assaulted a woman twice in the city's West End on June 1, as well an additional four times the next day. The assaults reportedly occurred once in a taxi and three other times at his home in Notting Hill.

The singer and songwriter, 24, denied the allegations while appearing at Southwark Crown Court in London.

"Alex is shocked by the allegations, which he denies, and looks forward to clearing his name in court," a representative for the musician said in a statement released to the press. "He is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings."

Performing under the name Rex Orange County, the artist received acclaim following his 2015 debut album "Bcos U Will Never Be Free," garnering the attention of U.S. rapper Tyler the Creator. Creator later invited O'Connor to collaborate on his 2017 album "Flower Boy," which exposed the young artist to an international audience.

O'Connor was released on unconditional bond, and his trial is set to begin on Jan. 3, 2023.
