‘RHONY’ Star Luann de Lesseps Apologizes After Denying Being Booted From Piano Bar
“Real Housewives Of New York City” cast member Luann de Lesseps has issued an apology, days after she was allegedly kicked out of The Townhouse of New York piano bar for being intoxicated.
On Saturday, Luann shared a post on Instagram in which she apologized for her behavior and admitted she has been struggling with alcohol.
“This week, after a regrettable incident I was faced with the truth,” the “RHONY” star wrote. “I want to apologize to the staff at Townhouse and anyone else I may have offended by my behavior. Clearly, my struggles with alcohol are real!”
Luann revealed she will be taking measures to make sure she doesn’t repeat the behavior. “While I’ve made great strides over the years, there’s been times I’ve fallen. It’s one day at a time!” she wrote. “I’m in recovery and taking steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
Luann added, “I’m grateful to my family and my friends for their constant support.”
The statement comes after the cabaret star denied being kicked out of the piano bar after allegedly grabbing the mic and requesting her song, “Money Can’t Buy You Class.”
“I went out, and I was feeling all Jovani, but clearly money can’t buy you class, especially with an audience who doesn’t appreciate my music,” Luann said on Thursday in a statement.
“[There is] certainly no girl code anymore. But I live to see another day — chic c’est la vie!”
Luann later told Page Six she sang a few Broadway classics and left after she was reminded about an early rehearsal in the morning.
“I got up and sang a few Broadway songs they were playing,” she explained. “I realize I was a little bit tipsy, but we were having fun, and it was getting late. I’d been rehearsing, and I was in the mood to sing a few songs.”
Luann previously checked into rehab for the second time in July 2018, which resulted in her missing the was “RHONY” season 10 reunion. Prior to that, she was arrested in December 2017 for disorderly intoxication in Palm Beach, Florida.
After pleading guilty to intoxication, battery, and trespassing, Luann was sentenced to one year of probation, 50 hours of community service, and ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
