Richard Gere Has Been Dating Alejandra Silva, 32, For About A Year

Richard Gere has been dating Alejandra Silva, a 32-year-old Spanish socialite, for about a year and managed to keep it a secret until now, E! News reported, citing a friend of the latter. The couple was seen in pictures on Tuesday, spending time and getting close on Gere’s boat, in Italy.

Alejandra is the daughter of Ignacio Silva, a former vice president at pro football club Real Madrid, E! News reported. The couple also reportedly made an appearance at the 61st Annual Taormina Film Festival award show in Sicily, on Wednesday, where the 65-year-old actor was honored.

“They've been together for about a year but have been very private about it,” the friend told Spain’s ABC, according to Daily Mail, adding: "Alejandra lives between Manhattan and Madrid and Richard has already been to see her a few times.”

An eyewitness said, according to Entertainment Tonight Online, that the two looked “so in love."

Gere, famous for big-ticket Hollywood hits like “Pretty Woman” and "An Officer and a Gentleman," is reportedly worth about $100 million, and ended his 11-year marriage in 2013 to actress Carey Lowell, with whom he has a 15-year-old son. Gere, who was married to supermodel Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995, was most recently linked to actress and model Padma Lakshmi.

Alejandra has a son named Albert with former husband Govind Friedland, a geologist, People magazine reported. Govind is the son of Robert Friedland, an international financier and the founder of Ivanhoe Mines and Ivanhoe Capital Corporation.
