Wrestling has grown to be one of the biggest sporting events today, and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstars are no less than celebrities -- some of them have even become billionaires over the years.
Here's a look at the top three richest WWE superstars, their net worths, careers and investments.
Ranking number one on the list is Vince McMahon, the chairman of WWE, which hauls in nearly $1 billion in annual revenue.
The 76-year-old McMahon inherited the company from his father Vincent in 1982, and he transformed it into the major brand that it is today.
While McMahon spent the majority of his career as a booker, the WWE chairman also tried his hands at wrestling. Vince made his first appearance as an in-ring wrestler on the second episode of WWE RAW in January 1999, according to Sportskeeda.
Over the years, McMahon also worked as an announcer and a commentator.
As of April 2022, he has an estimated $2.3 billion net worth, as per Forbes.
Dwayne Johnson, better known as “The Rock,” is the second richest wrestler to date.
His net worth, built over a nearly 25-year career of wrestling and acting is estimated to total $800 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. However, Forbes reported that his net worth only reached $270 million.
For two years, Johnson has been named the highest-paid actor by Forbes. The former wrestling star can reportedly command more than $20 million per movie, thanks to a string of box office hits.
On top of getting upward of $20 million per movie, Johnson allegedly negotiates a separate seven-figure social media fee for every film he appears in and promotes.
Johnson also earns from appearing on television shows, including the NBC competition show "The Titan Games" and "Young Rock."
Aside from his film and television work, Johnson also makes money through his production company Seven Bucks, founded in 2012, and through his alcohol brand, Teremana Tequila, launched in March 2020.
Trailing behind Johnson are McMahon’s daughter Stephanie McMahon and her husband Triple H, born Paul Michael Levesque.
The couple has a combined net worth of $150 million, said a separate Celebrity Net Worth report.
Stephanie, a former wrestling valet, is the chief brand officer at WWE, while Triple H serves as the executive vice-president of talent, live events and creatives at the company. The role earns him $2.8 million annually.
