Just when the gossip rags had settled on Rihanna and Chris Brown as an item, another guy is popping into the story: Canadian rapper Drake!

The latest rumors were sparked by the director for their Take Care music video, in which the two are seen embracing, with Rihanna wearing her new blonde hair. Speaking to MTV News, he said, They seemed to be super close and that's what I wanted for the video.

It's actually the most indie video I've done my whole life, Yoann Lemoine said, unconvincingly. It's probably the most famous artists, and they were so open to a project that was so minimal.

So what's up with Rihanna and Drake?

Last we heard of the two, Rihanna had actually been dropped from a Roc Nation track written by Drake specifically for her. Jay-Z was reportedly so furious about her reunion with Chris Brown that he cut her from a song he'd promised to her, giving it to Roc Nation newcomer Rita Ora instead. Could this be Drake and Rihanna's way of showing they aren't mad at each other, despite Jay-Z's disapproval?

As for a romantic angle, they do both seem to be at pivotal points in their lives. Rihanna reportedly gave rumored secret boyfriend (and admitted former abuser) Chris Brown an ultimatum the other day – dump Karrueche, or we're through – which means that if he doesn't comply, she may be in the market for a new man.

Drake, too, seems to be looking for love. He discussed his player past and future fidelity with GQ, saying, There's just a time where it was like, just getting p---y. Where I was in that sort of 'I'm young, I'm going to disconnect from my emotions and just do what everyone else tells me I should do and just be a rapper and have my fun.'

But now? I just need something else, he told the magazine. The seconds after a man reaches climax, that's like the realest moment of your life. If I don't want you next to me in that fifteen, twenty seconds, then there's something wrong.

So is Rihanna the woman Drake wants to be next to him? Would Rihanna even accept Drake, or is she too in love with Chris Brown?
