Rihanna wowed millions of viewers and fans with her career-spanning Super Bowl LVII halftime show at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, Sunday. She sang several of her biggest hits, including "Umbrella," "Diamonds," "Work" and "We Found Love."
But a big surprise came when the singer showed off a baby bump in the opening moments of her performance, leaving the zipper of her baggy scarlet jumpsuit down to reveal her belly.
Following her explosive halftime performance, Rihanna's rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the Grammy winner is indeed pregnant with her second child.
Prior to the confirmation, Rihanna's baby bump reveal sent fans on social media into a frenzy.
"Ok, let's just predict it...Rihanna is pregnant! She keeps rubbing her stomach. Jumpsuit unzipping! Oh yeah!" one wrote.
"Rihanna seems pregnant. I'll take that risk and predict it," another wrote.
"OK so everyone just Googled 'Rihanna pregnant' right?" David Mack tweeted.
Some fans said that while they were happy for the superstar, they were disappointed that the big news wasn't a new album or a tour.
"We really thought Rihanna was going [to] announce new music, but she announced she [is] pregnant again," one wrote.
"The world: RIHANNA MIGHT ANNOUNCE A TOUR OR ALBUM AFTER THE HALFTIME SHOW. Rihanna: *casually showing the entire world she's pregnant again*," another added.
"Rihanna was supposed to announce an album and tour in the near future, and this b--ch shows up pregnant again... Congrats, sis," a different fan tweeted.
Rihanna and Rocky, who was seen supporting her on the sidelines during the halftime show, filming her performance and dancing along, welcomed their first child, a son, in May 2022.
The couple felt "really blessed and couldn't be happier" after welcoming their baby boy, an unnamed insider told Us Weekly at the time.
The "Work" singer also shared a rare clip of their son on TikTok in December 2022, showing their little boy smiling at the camera and trying to grab her phone.
Rihanna can be heard talking to her baby off-camera. "Are you trying to get mommy's phone?" she said.
Last month, Rocky spoke about being a first-time dad when he joined Zane Lowe on the Apple Music 1 radio.
"It's so unexplainable. It's just one of those things. I'm a member of our club now, like the dad club. You see a dad, you see me. I'm playing on, I'm a full dad now," he said, as quoted by People. "Being outside and working and being creative, it drives more energy for you to obviously think and soak things up like a sponge now that I'm a dad, because I have a whole other perspective."
He added, "But it honestly helps you get home to your family and get home to your baby. And I can't even explain it, man. You come home to heaven every day. I'm so thankful. God is good, man."
