Grammy-winning artist Rihanna drew attention Monday after pictures surfaced over the weekend showing a baby bump while walking in New York City with boyfriend rapper A$AP Rocky.

Photos posted on social media show the couple holding hands and smiling at each other in frigid temperatures. Rihanna's bare stomach is exposed, while jewelry is draped over it. The couple were strolling in Harlem, the area where A$AP Rocky grew up.

The news drew a large response on social media. One Twitter post from author Toni Tone drew close to 100,000 likes.

Neither Rihanna, 33, nor A$AP Rocky, 33, have children. The couple has not formally announced that Rihanna is pregnant.

Rihanna had stated in the past that she planned to have children. The Barbados-born singer has long been friends with A$AP Rocky. In May 2021, the couple announced they were in a romantic relationship.

In an interview with GQ in May 2020, A$AP Rocky said he thinks he "would be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad," and that his child would be "very fly."

In a March 2020 interview with British Vogue, Rihanna addressed her possible future as a parent.

"I know I will want to live differently,” she said.

“I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong…’ they diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness, that's the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child.”
