Rihanna’s Dad Confirms Boyfriend Hassan Jameel, Assumed Saudi Arabian Millionaire Was Black

Pop star Rihanna has a new man, her father Ronald Fenty confirmed to The Sun Thursday. RiRi and Saudi Arabian businessman Hassan Jameel have been dating for six months. The singer told her father about the relationship in May.

Fenty discovered what Jameel looked like after a friend showed him a picture. He was surprised because he assumed Rihanna was dating a black man, but he wasn’t bothered. He just wanted his daughter to be happy. One of the things he noticed aside from Jameel’s skin color was his height.

“A friend sent me them on Facebook of them kissing in the pool, I was looking for someone of color, a darker color, but whatever makes her happy,” Fenty said. “He’s very tall.”

Fenty was looking forward to meeting his daughter’s new beau. “She’s coming back to Barbados for the festival in the first week in August, and I imagine she’ll bring him with her,” he said. “The family would like to meet him, and I want grandchildren soon!”

Jameel is a multi-million businessman man. Fenty approved of his profession. “She told me she had a new boyfriend about a month ago, but I didn’t know who he was. I always tell her, ‘Don’t date an entertainer, don’t date an athlete,’” he said. “They are busy going this way and that way, they don’t have any quality time, and they’re good looking guys so women fall all over them.”

Fenty was previously unaware of Jameel’s wealth and was concerned that he was too rich. “I didn’t know he was a billionaire,” he said. “Too little money, or too much money can’t make you happy, you need to something in-between.”

He offered some advice to Jameel about dating Rihanna, who has won eight Grammy Awards. “He’s going to have to buckle up, she’s a hard-working girl, she’s very independent and ambitious. Nobody can tell her what to do,” Fenty warned. “She doesn’t want to be lifted up, she wants to get up there herself. Hopefully he’s a little bit more liberal and has spent more time in Europe and South America.”

Rihanna has not publicly confirmed she’s dating Jameel. Word about their relationship got out when TMZ leaked pictures of them Tuesday kissing in a pool during a vacation in Spain.

Even though she’s apparently moved on, Drake claimed he had been in love with her for years when he presented the Video Vanguard Award to Rihanna at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world, all my adult life I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me,” he said. “She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry.”

Rihanna famously dated Chris Brown. She’s also been tied to Leonardo DiCaprio, Travis Scott and more.
