Riley Keough has thanked Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin after the latter dedicated a song to her late brother, Benjamin Storm Keough, at a Coldplay show.

The group performed at Audacy’s 8th Annual We Can Survive event from Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

During the show, Martin took a moment to offer a rendition of Coldplay’s hit “Yellow” to pay tribute to Riley’s brother, who died in July 2020 at the age of 27. Riley shared a footage of the moment on her Instagram Sunday, giving a special shout-out to both Martin and Johnson.

“@coldplay dedicated Yellow to my brother tonight at @wecansurvivela,” she captioned her post, before adding five heart emojis and three sobbing emojis. “I wasn’t ready for it but it was such a beautiful surprise. And me love you @dakotajohnson and credit and thank you to whoever captured this video,” she continued.

The clip, which was taken by a fan, featured Martin’s beautiful vocals accompanied by guitar. The clip also showed the Coldplay vocalist all-smiles as he delivered the sweet rendition. “We’re playing this for our friend Benjamin Storm,” Martin said in the video. “Wherever you are right now, we’re sending this song all the way to you,” he added.

In an interview back in June, Riley revealed she had to endure “hard days” and “all kinds of pain and suffering” in the year that followed her brother’s death. “I’m really consciously trying to be present and not use anything as any kind of escape, and be cognizant of when I’m doing that,” she said.

Last week, Riley, who is Johnson’s co-star in the upcoming series “Cult Following,” paid a tribute to her brother on his birthday by sharing photos of them on Instagram.

Benjamin died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Calabasas, California last year. He had a history of depression and attempted suicide five to six months before his death. After his passing, Riley had his name tattooed above her collarbone.
