Rita Ora Opens Up About Calvin Harris Split After Summer Squabble With Ex-Boyfriend

Singer and actress Rita Ora has nothing bad to say about her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris. The 23-year-old, who is set to star in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie in February, opened up to Cosmopolitan magazine for their December issue about her June split from the famous DJ.

“I was with the right guy at the wrong time,” the starlet, who is Cosmopolitan’s cover girl, dished. “I was about to start a tour, and he was also all over the place. There’s only so much you can do when you don’t see each other. I really admire people who have long-distance relationships. It’s an incredible achievement. I couldn’t do it.”

Ora and Harris, 30, began dating in May 2013. The couple not only had a blossoming romantic relationship, but a professional one as well. In March 2014 Harris collaborated with Ora on her hit song “I Will Never Let You Down,” writing and producing the single.

Despite their chemistry, the pair called it quits over the summer. And while Ora seems to be happy and willing to open up about her relationship with Harris, things weren’t so civil post-breakup.

In August the singer accused her ex of “banning” her from performing “I Will Never Let You Down” at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. Ora claimed that because Harris wrote and produced the song he had to approve any performance on TV. Harris fired back, taking to Twitter to tell his followers that not everything was as it seemed.

“You’ll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life,” he posted. “But just know I had a damn good reason.”

The Teen Choice Awards performance (or lack of) wasn’t the only thing said to have plagued their relationship. TMZ reported at the time that Ora’s alleged wandering eye triggered the breakup. According to the gossip site, Ora got “touchy feely” with Justin Bieber while in the recording studio together.

“Calvin heard they were very affectionate,” a source told TMZ in June. “She would sit on his lap, he would rub her back, etc.”
