‘Riverdale’
Will Alice Cooper (Madchen Amick) have a better relationship with her daughters in “Riverdale” Season 2? The CW

“Riverdale” Season 2 star Madchen Amick recently teased a more judgmental Alice Cooper in the upcoming episodes of the hit CW series.

On her Instagram account, the actress posted a selfie while wearing eyeglasses. She captioned the snap by saying that Alice becomes even more “judge-y” whenever she has her specs on.

In “Riverdale” Season 1, Alice did not have a good relationship with her two daughters, Polly (Tiera Skovbye) and Betty (Lili Reinhart). In the first few episodes, it was revealed that Alice sent Polly to a faraway place to keep her pregnancy hidden. She previously told Betty that she sent Polly away because she was hooked on Jason (Trevor Stines) too much. Alice and Betty also did not have a very pleasant relationship with each other since Betty is close to Polly.

Toward the final episodes of “Riverdale” Season 1, Alice told Betty that she and Polly have an older brother that she gave up for adoption several years ago. There are speculations that Polly and Betty’s brother will be introduced in the upcoming episodes of Season 2. But as of late, neither The CW nor executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has talked about the casting of a new male character.

Over the past couple of weeks, the casting of Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle, Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge and Graham Phillips as Nick St. Clair were the only ones that have been announced. A new female character will also be part of “Riverdale” Season 2. Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) will bond closely with Jughead (Cole Sprouse) as a member of the Southside Serpents and a student at Southside High.

Meanwhile, the series will reveal the identity of Fred’s (Luke Perry) masked shooter in the premiere. While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Aguirre-Sacasa said that Fred’s shooting is what will be tackled first in Season 2 and will lead to more sinister discoveries. “Much like Jason, we’re going to learn that there are a lot of possible – and not only possible, but likely – suspects amongst our town… That investigation is going to lead into even darker waters,” he said.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT.
