Robert Lewandowski Agrees To Leave Bayern Munich To Join This Club At $57M: Report

Bayern Munich legend Robert Lewandowski has reportedly agreed to join FC Barcelona ahead of the 2022 summer market.

Lewandowski, who is contracted with Bayern Munich until 2023, wants to leave the Bundesliga club to join Barcelona, reported The Sport. One of the reasons behind his decision is that he believes he may finally win the Ballon d'Or if he moves to the Catalan club.

The Catalans are reportedly preparing to offer $57 million to Bayern for Lewandowski. Even though the La Liga side is undergoing a financial crisis, they are willing to break their salary structure a little to sign a top player like Lewandowski.

Barcelona have reached an agreement with the Polish forward as the club aims at landing him ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, reported Sport Italia.

Lewandowski is easily one of the best forwards to have played in soccer. His game went to the next level when he moved from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich nearly eight years ago. The 33-year-old Poland national had a terrific 2019-20 season – he amassed an incredible 55 goals for Bayern, along with 10 assists, in 47 competitive appearances.

There was no doubt those figures would have definitely won him the Ballon d'Or. Unfortunately, Lewandowski was robbed of the Ballon d'Or trophy as the awards got canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Lewandowski returned with a fine performance the following season, as he finished with 48 goals and nine assists in 40 competitive matches. However, he had to settle for the second spot as Lionel Messi secured a record seventh Ballon d'Or award last year.

Lewandowski has now netted 40-plus goals in each of his last seven seasons with Bayern, including the ongoing one where he has already netted 45 goals in 37 matches. Lewandowski did not touch the 40-goal mark only in his maiden campaign with Bayern, which was the 2014-15 season.
