Robin Thicke recently remembered his dad, Alan Thicke, who passed away four years ago, so he penned a sweet tribute for him on social media.

Thicke shared a photo of him lying on the bed next to his newborn son. In the caption, the "Lost Without U" singer recalled his father's love and shared how Alan influenced his parenting style.

"Four years ago today, on December 13, 2016, my beloved Father passed away," he wrote on Instagram.

"As I wake up next to this little guy his first night home, I miss my father so much, but I feel his love in my heart every time I kiss my babies on the head the same way he would kiss me. I’m crying a little right now. Partly because I’m sad you’re not here, but mostly because I’m happy that I had you to love me, guide me, and show me the way."

Thicke was hoping that he made his father proud when he was still alive and he thanked him for what he did for them.

" I hope I make you proud. I miss you every day. Thank you Dad," he concluded.

Thicke received supportive messages from other social media users in the comment section. Many of them also shared their experience of losing their dad and several assured him that his dad was proud of him.
