Rock Band announced Friday it will launch an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch later this month.

In the iPhone version from EA Mobile, allows users to choose if they want to play as a drummer, guitarist, bassist, or vocalist at any one of three difficulty levels.

EA Mobile game developer shared details of the new app on its Facebook page. According to the post, the app is to be released later this month. Users can aunch multiplayer games with up to four people taking part simultaneously.

The game featuring songs by the Foo Fighters, Silversun Pickups, Steve Miller Band, and the Beastie Boys, Rock Band promises to bring the rock soul of the award-winning game to the iPhone’s mobile platform.
