Fans on social media were wonderstruck by the announcement that Rodtang Jitmuangnon would finally get to share the same stage and slug it out with compatriot and fellow world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9.

ONE Championship dropped the bombshell on Tuesday, February 7 that the two of the most exciting Thai strikers in the world today are set to collide at ONE Fight Night 8, which will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 25 (March 24 in the United States).

The highly-anticipated encounter will be contested under kickboxing rules, and Superlek's intricately-crafted hardware will be on the line.

Rodtang and Superlek have teased a dream match-up on several occasions, with both men garnering rave reviews for their exploits under the organization's banner.

With a stunning professional record of 132-29-4, Superlek has beaten several of the biggest names in both Muay Thai and kickboxing, including Muangthai PK.Saenchai, Jonathan Haggerty, Taiki Naito and Panpayak Jitmuangnon.

Superlek opened his 2023 with a bang when he throttled to a clear-cut unanimous decision victory over Daniel Puertas for the vacant flyweight kickboxing championship at ONE Fight Night 6 this past January.

Now, "The Kicking Machine" will make his first ONE world title defense opposite a man who has been an unstoppable force since making his promotional debut in 2018.

Rodtang, who owns an impressive 270-42-10 standing, is best remembered for dethroning Haggerty for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai belt in August 2019.

Since then, 'The Iron Man" has recorded four successful defenses—with the latest being a five-round drubbing of strawweight kingpin Joseph Lasiri in November of last year.

Rodtang now targets to join the likes of Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, Stamp Fairtex and Janet Todd in the elite class of fighters who have become two-sport world champions in ONE Championship.

The Singapore-based outfit is expected the release the full lineup of bouts for ONE Fight Night 8 in the coming days.
