Roman Reigns To Win The Universal Championship? WWE Reportedly Have Big Plans For The 'Big Dog'
After keeping Roman Reigns away from the main-event championship, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) company reportedly has a major plan in store for him.
Reigns went off the radar after he was diagnosed with leukemia. However, after he returned to WWE in March, the company had decided to go easy on him.
Although there is no confirmation if the WWE has picked Reigns to win the Universal Championship, the "Big Dog" might soon fight at WrestleMania 36 in April against the current reigning Universal Champion, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.
According to a report in Wrestling News, Reigns will again become the top babyface of Friday Night SmackDown.
Since Reigns no longer is on the receiving end of the fans' backlash like Seth Rollins or John Cena, Vince McMahon still sees the 34-year-old American wrestler as the face of the company and apparently, Reigns will be treated that way in the coming months.
Reigns is scheduled to take on Baron Corbin at the TLC pay-per-view next month and there’s been the talk of adding an apparent stipulation to that match. There are four months to go before WrestleMania 36 will take place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Meanwhile, Reigns recently joined "After The Bell" podcast with host Corey Graves to talk about on various topics including how the fans have turned on former WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins because of some comments he had made on a public platform.
After Reigns took a step back in 2019, the year has been all about Rollins as the latter has been in the title scene for the majority of the year.
"We’ve talked very briefly but just the way with our travel, it’s separated us. We’re both out to conquer but we have to hold it down for our respective sides. With Seth, he knows what to do. He knows what to do in the ring and how to carry himself. It’s just a matter of riding it out. This is a situation where sometimes it’s, ‘What have you done for me lately?’ You just have to go out the next night and kill it and continue to kill it. That’s all that matters – just bust your ass and work hard," Reigns added.
