“The Rookie” Season 2, episode 17 will be about busting a major drugs operation in the city. The officers will get a tip from one of their informants and they will swing into action to take down the criminals.
According to the official plot synopsis of the next episode, Officer John Nolan’s (Nathan Fillion) relationship with his first confidential informant will be tested when he finds her dealing drugs on the street. A preview video shows Nolan and his partner learning about a huge drugs operation, and they come up with a plan to keep these drugs off the streets.
The officers will choose an undercover operation in order to take down the drug dealers, but things will escalate when the criminals find out about the informant. Nolan and the others will have to go in ahead of time to make sure the criminals don’t execute an innocent person.
A new character will be joining the show in “The Rookie” Season 2, episode 17. Roselyn Sánchez will be playing the guest role of journalist Valerie Castillo. A sneak peek scene posted on TV Insider shows the journalist going up against Officer Tim Bradford (Eric Winter).
What makes the interaction between the journalist Valerie and Officer Tim is that the two of them are a married couple off-screen. Sánchez told TV Insider that she is a big fan of the TV series and she loved playing a character opposite her husband. The actress is sure her character will bring laughter and conflict to the show and she is hoping to reprise the role in the future.
With interesting new characters and exciting storylines, the popularity of the TV series has been growing. Last week, the show recorded the highest number of viewers ever with 5.9 million tuning in, TV Line reported.
“The Rookie” Season 2, episode 17 is titled “Control.” It airs on April 12 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
