Royal Baby Charlotte Pictured With Her Brother Prince George In Newly Released Photo From The Palace
After giving birth to their daughter in early May, precious few photos of the latest addition to the royal family, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, were made available by Prince William and Princess Kate. However, now everyone can gush over an adorable photo of the newborn baby and her brother.
The image comes courtesy of the official Twitter page for the Kensington Palace, which shared the below image on Saturday evening showing Prince George holding his sister Princess Charlotte.
According to an accompanying tweet, the photo was taken by The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, in mid-May. In it, the two are dressed in matching blue and white outfits. Prince George is staring right at his sister’s face and the new royal baby seems preoccupied with whatever is going on off-camera.
This marks one of the first times that an image of the royal baby has been offered to the public since Middleton left the hospital accompanied by her husband, The Duke of Cambridge Prince William, after giving birth.
According to CNN, the news comes just one day after it was revealed that Princess Charlotte would be christened on July 5 at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk. The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will conduct the ceremony.
As previously reported, the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s second child is significant politically because, thanks to the Succession to the Crown Act of 2013, the princess is now fourth in line to the throne. The new law states that whether a royal baby is a boy or girl he or she will have an equal claim to the throne in the normal line of succession.
While the Kensington Palace Twitter page only shared one photo, Us Weekly reports that more will be released to the public later tonight. What do you think of the prince and princess? Comment below or tweet your thoughts to @TylerMcCarthy.
