Outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital where the royal baby was born, a crowd gathered and celebrated at hearing the news. "As news filtered through outside St Mary's there were cries and cheers and an official town crier made his own birth announcement," wrote BBC's Daniela Relph, who was outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital, described the moment news of the birth was announced. "It's now a mass of media, police, royal fans and curious passers-by. The wait now begins again - will the duke and duchess and their new princess leave hospital today? All eyes are on the Lindo Wing door."

Of course, on Twitter users had some fun with the royal announcement. As no cameras were allowed inside, some took the time to imagine just what the setting was like tucked away from all the cameras.

Born May 2, the new royal addition is a Taurus like her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. That's a good sign, according to Astrologer Patrick Arundell, who told the BBC a royal Taurus will take her official duties very seriously. "They would realize that this is something you have to do and take it more in their stride and be patient. Taurean people are very, very dependable but they can be a little bit frustratingly stuck in their ways."
