The royal family should shrink following Prince Andrew’s “catastrophic” interview, according to one royal commentator.

On Saturday, the Duke of York broke his silence about the Epstein scandal that had been plaguing him for months. Prince Andrew shared his side of the story but it only made things worse.

According to Dan Wootton of The Sun, he realized that the royal family should shrink following Prince Andrew’s tell-all interview. The royal correspondent even described the royal’s interview “catastrophic.”

“AS a monarchist this is something I say with a heavy heart, but the current trauma over Prince Andrew proves the Royal Family must shrink,” Wootton wrote .

“The Duke of York’s TV tell-all on Saturday will be legacy-defining —it wasn’t just bad, it was catastrophic. And it should speed up the necessary process of reducing the front-line members of The Firm, as already planned by Prince Charles.”

He added that the Duke and Duchess of York have brought nothing but shame and embarrassment for the monarch in the past two decades. Meanwhile, their daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are well-meaning but are “princesses without portfolio.” While they love to be in the limelight and want to take on a deeper role, there is no public demand for them.

There are rumors that Prince Charles is planning to reduce the members of the royal family. Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf has sensationally removed several members from his royal house.

He booted some of his grandchildren from the royal family to “establish which members of The Royal Family may be expected to perform official duties” leaving only the two children of the apparent heir Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar the only grandchildren remaining as part of The Royal House.

According to royal correspondent Emily Andrews, Prince Andrew asked the Queen to make Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice full-time working royals like their cousins Prince William and Prince Harry. He feared that his daughters will be overshadowed when Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis get older. But Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles refused and even removed them from the payroll.
