'The Royals' TV Series Season 2 Spoilers: Actress Confirms Ophelia Will Return To The Show
Season 2 of the E! original series “The Royals” is already in production, and the cast members are giving out a lot of clues and spoilers through social media.
One big question about Season 2 is the fate of Prince Liam and Ophelia’s relationship. Thankfully, Merritt Patterson, who plays Ophelia, has already confirmed that she will be back for the season through an Instagram post.
“Happy as a clam to be back on set as #Ophelia #TheRoyals,” said Patterson. She posted a selfie and gladly confirmed that Ophelia will definitely be back. But it is still unclear if she will be back in London to be near her prince.
In the Season 1 finale, Ophelia was left back in New York, where she has been hired to become part of a prestigious dance company. Prince Liam decided that it would not be fair to ask her to run away with him and abandon her dreams. He dropped her off and flew back to London to face his family and their problems. Meanwhile, it was also revealed that Liam’s ex-girlfriend Gemma had something to do with Ophelia getting hired in the first place.
Regardless of the circumstances, Ophelia will definitely back for Season 2. Patterson joined the cast almost a month after production started and this may indicate that she would not be seen very prominently in the first few episodes.
On June 14, actress Alexandra Park was the first to announce that filming will be resuming the following day. She plays Princess Eleanor, and at the height of her excitement to get back on the set, she tweeted:
Actor Tom Austen, who plays Princess Eleanor’s bodyguard Jasper, also posted about the series on Twitter. In the wee hours of June 16, he confirmed that the first day of filming had already begun.
Just a few days ago, the first teaser for season 2 has been released. While Ophelia wasn’t seen in the trailer, fans of the couple can now breathe easy knowing that she will definitely be back.
“The Royals” is an E! original scripted series. The show is entirely fictional and depicts a modern-day British royal family. Season 2 is scheduled to air in November on E!.
