Ruby Tuesday Restaurant Closures 2020: Which Locations Are Closing? [Complete List]

Restaurant chain Ruby Tuesday reportedly closed at least 147 locations since the start of 2020 as the coronavirus impacted its business.

The company did not publicly announce the closures but has been removing restaurant locations from its website over the course of the year. Restaurants in general have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic as dining rooms closed and locations became reliant on curbside pickup during state stay-at-home orders.

Ruby Tuesday has had a pattern of closing restaurant locations in the past as it looks to gain relevancy with a younger demographic, Business Insider reported. The company has about 500 company-owned and franchised restaurants located all over the world and nearly 28,000 employees, its website said.

A company spokesperson told the news outlet that “During these uncertain times, and after careful consideration, we have made the decision to close select locations in an effort to better position our restaurants for future business.”
