In an extremely bizarre episode, a runaway cart leveled a football coach and the reporters who were interviewing him in the middle of the football field.

The electric cart, without any drivers sitting on it, came in behind the group of men and caught them by surprised. As seen from the video, it initially ran up the edge of an end zone, turned right and raced towards the midfield where the men stood.

The coach, from high school Spring Dekaney, was being interviewed after his football team beat Cibolo Steele to win the Texas 5A Division II on Saturday.

The coach fell backward into the cart's passenger seat after he was hit. He was not able to gain control of the cart and rolled off. Finally, a field worker jumped on the cart and stopped it.

As seen from the video, there appeared to be red objects stuck on the accelerator of the cart.

The Associated Press reported that seven people were treated for minor injuries at the stadium. One of them, who suffered leg abrasions, was taken to a nearby hospital for a precautionary examination.
