“Marvel’s Runaways” Season 3 will include an early Christmas present for fans. The new episodes will finally include the often-asked for crossover with “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger.”

The news was confirmed by the casts of both shows in a video on Thursday. The video starts out with a close up of the core six young cast members on the Hulu show. They mention that they’ll need some help with their Season 3 challenges. The video zooms out to show Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph, who play Tandy and Tyrone on “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger.”

“We’re honestly so excited to be teaming up with the Runaways and Hulu, and we cannot wait for you guys to see it,” Joseph said.

While “Runaways” is a Hulu original, “Cloak and Dagger” airs on Freeform. However, both share a parent company, Disney, and Marvel Television produces both. Holt reminded viewers that the first two seasons of both shows are available on Hulu.

Fans have been asking for this crossover for a while. The comics featured a crossover and “Runaways” got some extra promotion when the series premiere aired on Freeform after last year’s “Cloak and Dagger” finale. Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement.

“Runaways” executive producer Josh Schwartz added that it was just as creator Brian K. Vaughn, who wrote the original comic book crossover, intended.

Previously, Holt told International Business Times that she very much supported a crossover.

“‘Runaways’ and ‘Cloak and Dagger’ cross over in the comics, so I feel like it only makes sense for us to do it in the TV realm,” she told IBT this spring. “But we’ll see. I think it’d be really fun. It also makes sense because we’re all in the same realm of age, and I think it’d be cool to see all the kids together.”

The news that Tyrone and Tandy are going to Los Angeles isn’t too surprising. After all, Season 2 ended with the New Orleans duo on a bus. It looks like their road trip will take them to California.

“Runaways” Season 3 premieres Dec. 13 on Hulu. Freeform has not renewed “Cloak and Dagger” for a third season yet.
