Rush Limbaugh Net Worth: A Look At His Salary, Wife, Drug Problems, After Right-Wing Pundit Gives Cancer Update
Radio personality Rush Limbaugh, who is battling stage-4 lung cancer, is one of the nation’s most prominent conservative commentators. On Monday, he gave his listeners an update on his health.
Limbaugh said "the scans did show some progression of cancer" and that "it's not dramatic but it is the wrong direction."
Here’s a look at his salary, health and marital history.
While it is very difficult to accurately assess a celebrity's wealth, reports claim Limbaugh has a varying net worth of $500 to $600 million. He earns an annual salary of $84.5 million as the host of “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” with the program receiving an estimated 25 million monthly listeners. Forbes noted in 2018 that only Howard Stern earned more as a radio host than Limbaugh.
Limbaugh, 69, has been married four times. His current wife is Kathryn Rogers, a party planner from Florida. The couple has been married since 2010.
He previously was married to Roxy McNeely, Michelle Sixta and Marta Fitzgerald.
The conservative giant, who began his broadcasting career in 1967, has often struggled with his health. Limbaugh said in 2001 that he lost much of his hearing ability, and later received cochlear implant surgery. In 2009, Limbaugh landed in a Honolulu hospital after feeling chest pain. Doctors ruled out heart disease or heart attack as the cause of the pain.
Limbaugh has admitted to battling drug addiction. He stated in 2003 that he was addicted to pain medication and was seeking treatment.
In April 2006, Limbaugh was arrested in Florida on felony prescription drug charges. In June 2006, Limbaugh was detained at Palm Beach International airport for having Viagra that was not prescribed in his name.
Limbaugh announced his lung cancer diagnosis in January and said he would continue his radio program while receiving treatment.
“I hate the way I feel every day. It's tough to realize that the days where I do not think I'm under a death sentence are over,” Limbaugh said Monday.
In February, President Donald Trump gave Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
