S Korean coma patient removed from life support
A South Korean hospital on Tuesday removed the life-support device from a 77-year-old patient, who had earlier been ruled with a right to die with dignity., the Associated Press reported.
Doctors at a Seoul hospital on Tuesday became the first medical team in South Korea to take a patient off life support under a court order.
Her family had filed a lawsuit after doctors refused to end her life. Her children claimed their mother had always opposed keeping people alive on machines when they were told by doctors that there was no chance of revival.
The patient had been living with the help of life support since February 2008.
