‘Salvation’ Season 1 Spoilers: Episode 9 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen Next?
Grace (Jennifer Finnigan) will find herself in danger in Season 1, episode 9 of “Salvation.”
According to the synopsis for the upcoming episode of the CBS sci-fi thriller, Grace narrowly escapes an assassin tasked to kill her. It was revealed at the end of last Wednesday’s back-to-back episodes that there was a man who had broken into Grace’s house without her knowledge. The man is clearly the assassin, but whoever hired him to murder Grace is yet to be known. Although Grace is the Pentagon press secretary, it won’t be surprising if it turns out that the government is the one trying to get her killed.
In Season 1, episode 7, Grace and Darius (Darius Tanz) finally figured out that Atlas is actually a weapons program, and the meteor that hit Russia in 2013 was no natural disaster, but was a weapon wielded by the U.S. government using Danz Industries’ guidance system.
In Season 1, episode 8, Grace confronted Harris (Ian Anthony Dale) about Atlas being a weapons program. Although Harris didn’t straight out admit that Atlas is a weapons program, he did say that the meteor that hit Russia in 2013 was a mistake and a weapon’s test that went wrong. “That was supposed to land on an inhabited terrain but it went off course,” Harris explained.
When Harris pointed out that no one died there, Grace reminded the deputy secretary for defense that a lot of people, on the other hand, were killed to cover it up. As viewers know, Walter Carnahan (Bill Turnbull), Pentagon tech and Grace’s friend, was killed shortly after he accidentally found out about Atlas. And now that Grace also knows about the weapons program, it’s completely possible that the U.S. government also wants her dead.
Elsewhere in episode 9, Darius and Liam (Charlie Rowe) forge unlikely alliances. While the episode summary doesn’t reveal who the pair will team up with, it’s possible that they will work with RE/SYST to dig up more information about Atlas.
“Salvation” Season 1, episode 9, titled “Patriot Games,” airs on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
