Salvatore Ferragamo supports individuals battling life-threatening illness
Italian shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo presented its Spring 2011 Collection at the 9th Annual Celebration of Dreams held under the aegis of Dream Foundation in California last Saturday (Nov.6).
Dream Foundation, which is America's first wish granting organization for citizens afflicted with life-threatening illness, celebrated the annual event that marked a milestone in fulfilling its 10,000th dream in 2010. Ever since its inception in 1994, the foundation has been working to enhance the quality of life of individuals and their families who are battling against such illnesses.
The annual celebration featured a runway show by Salvatore Ferragamo, who are just back after participating in the Milan Fashion Week, and a Founder's Award Presentation to actor Rob Lowe and his wife Sheryl Lowe.
Celebrity entertainers Orianthi, American Idol's David Archuleta and American Idol alum Kimberly Locke among others also wowed the audience with their exclusive tracks.
Rounding the live performances were famed dancers of So You Think You Can Dance, Caitlin Kinney and Miriam and Leonardo along with the youth dance group, Rage. This was followed by the presentation of the Founder's Award to Rob and Sheryl Lowe, who have been active with the foundation since its initiation.
Silent and live auction items to raise funds during the event included high-ticket items such as a luxury getaway to the Four Seasons Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand; the Hotel Le Toiney in St. Barts and a Crystal Cruise to Alaska. A private celebrity poker tournament with Ray Romano and Brad Garrett and an autographed guitar by Tim McGraw was also part of the auction.
