A lot of movies have been delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak and some of them have halted their production to prevent the spread of the disease. One of the movies affected by the virus is “Jurassic World: Dominion,” the third movie in the “Jurassic World” series. The movie would see Sam Neill reprising the role of Dr. Alan Grant in the latest film. He was part of the original “Jurassic Park” movie that hit theaters in 1993.

In an interview with Variety, the 72-year-old actor revealed that he cannot wait for the pandemic to end so that he can get the opportunity to film the highly-anticipated movie. The esteemed actor compared himself and the co-stars to the preserved insects that were used in the original movie to resurrect dinosaurs.

“Suddenly, here we are. We have been cryogenically frozen, and ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ is on hold. Insects in amber. And like virtually every other actor in the world right now, I am not working. Dammit,” Neill said.

Neill further stated that the whole crew will be back soon and he will be really happy to be on the set with the people he loves. He also insisted that a halt in the production was really important.

“We will return. And what joy it will be to be back on set, doing what I love best, with the just the kind of people I love. That rare privilege. And to put things into perspective – there are many many worse things than a suspended movie,” Neill said.

Apart from Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, who also starred in the original “Jurassic Park” movie, will be appearing in the upcoming film in their respective roles of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Ian Malcolm.

The title of the movie makes it quite evident that the third installment will start from where the “Fallen Kingdom” concluded. The second movie of the highly successful series concluded with dinosaurs getting free from captivity and moving closer to the cities on Earth.

The previous two films turned out to be a massive success at the box office. “Jurassic World” (2015) accumulated a staggering $1.672 billion at the global box office while its sequel, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” also surpassed the billion mark ($1.309 billion) worldwide.

The cast of “Jurassic World 3” also includes Chris Pratt (Owen Grady) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing) in lead roles.
