Samsung Continues To Expand Its Game-Streaming Across Millions Of Devices
Tech giant Samsung Electronics has announced a new future of gaming to customers by expanding game-streaming capabilities.
Anstream Arcade and Blacknut Cloud Gaming are set to join Samsung's game streaming in 2023 for select 2021-2023 Samsung TVs. The former is the largest cloud gaming service in the world and provides access to over 1,500 classic games and includes weekly challenges and tournaments for players to tackle. Titles such as "Pac-Man" and "Mortal Kombat," as well as other classics from the past 30 years, will be available on Samsung TVs. Players will even be able to challenge friends and the global community.
"Antstream Arcade believes that combining gaming's past with gaming's future will push the industry forward to the next era of video games," said CEO of Antstream Arcade Steve Cottam. "What fulfills that promise better than retro arcade games played on Samsung's most advanced Smart TVs? Game streaming provides gamers with more opportunities to play games they love or classics they missed out on."
Blacknut is right behind Anstream with 500 titles and counting across a PC and console catalog. The subscription-based service comes with unlimited access to gaming content for TV with a "click and play" experience that allows up to five players to play simultaneously on any compatible device. Their library spans classic AAA titles, indie games, and narrative adventures, with the gaming style focusing on both casual and core games. They also include a variety of Disney games.
"We designed Blacknut as a family gaming platform including five player profiles that can play simultaneously," explained Nabil Laredj, Blacknut VP of Business Development and Licensing. "Bringing our service to Samsung devices allows more gamers to experience the future of gaming."
These services aren't the only new additions to the Samsung family.
The company is offering a holiday bundle wherein select Samsung TVs include an Xbox controller as well as 3 months of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, giving buyers access to the Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Existing Samsung customers are included in the fun. Apps from different game streaming partners will be available for some 2021 Samsung TVs. These include Xbox, Amazon Luna and NVIDIA, with Blacknut and Anstream Arcade joining in 2023.
"When Samsung Gaming Hub rolled out earlier this year on 2022 TV models, the number one question we received was 'when is game streaming coming to my 2021 TV?' Today we're happy to share with our eager fans that they'll be able to play the games they love before the end of the year," explained Mike Lucero, Head of Product for Gaming at Samsung. "With any leading Bluetooth-enabled gaming controller and internet connection, millions of players will be able to access an expansive library of games ranging from the best AAAs to the hottest indies and retro games directly through partner apps on select 2021 Smart TVs, making Samsung devices a preferred destination for game streaming."
