Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumors: UAProf Listings Reveal Two Model Numbers, Confirm 1080p Full HD Display
Samsung’s (KRX: 005935) own User Agent Profile (UAProf) has confirmed two variants of the upcoming Galaxy Note 3, along with some of the handset’s key specifications.
The UAProf listings showed two model numbers of the Galaxy Note 3, including “SM-N900T” and “SM-N900A.” Although there is no confirmation on the screen size of the upcoming smartphone, the listings confirm that the device will have a screen resolution of 1080×1920 as suggested by earlier reports, Android Community reported on Tuesday.
The UAProf specification is concerned with capturing capability and preference information for wireless devices. This information can be used by content providers to produce content in an appropriate format for the specific device. A UAProf describes details of a mobile handset, including vendor, model, screen size, multimedia capabilities and more.
The latest Galaxy Note 3 model numbers suggest there may only be two versions of the new phone, disputing recent reports that suggest the Note 2’s sequel could be released with four variants -- two with an AMOLED display and two others featuring an LCD display.
According to ongoing rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will feature a 5.7-inch display, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 3GB of RAM, improved S Pen support, 32GB of internal memory with microSD card slot for further storage expansion and an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The device is expected to be powered by either a quad-core chipset from Qualcomm, or an Octa-Core Exynos chipset, found in the Galaxy S4 smartphone.
Recent reports suggested that Samsung could release the Galaxy Note 3 in the second half of this year, which seems plausible because that timeline matches the IFA 2013 -- the event where both the previous versions of the Galaxy Note were announced -- which is scheduled to take place from September 6-11 in Berlin.
